Felixstowe Strike – What Our Clients Need To Know

Felixstowe Container Port

From 27th September – 5th October, further strike action is being planned at the UK’s largest port, Felixstowe, following a break down in discussions about employee pay.

The strike follows last months strike action which saw around 1,900 staff members walk out on 21st August for 8 days. There will be disruption to services to and from the port during this time. But rest assured, we’re doing all we can to minimise any disruption to our clients’ shipping arrangements.

How Seaspace are dealing with the Felixstowe strike

The Seaspace team are monitoring the situation daily and will advise all those clients whose shipments are due to arrive at Felixstowe during the strike period.

Where possible, particularly if shipments have yet to sail, we’ll look at alternative services into other, unaffected, UK ports. Meanwhile, we’ll also monitor those services that are due into Felixstowe, as some shipping lines will look to delay, divert or re-route vessels to avoid the port during this period.

Clients can rest assured that Seaspace will do everything they can to mitigate the impact of this industrial action.
