Seaspace International Forwarders awarded AEOF status by HMRC

Seaspace International Forwarders are pleased to announce that they have been accredited with AEOF status by HMRC.

After a rigorous examination of Seaspace’s Customs processes, operational procedures and security protocols by H.M. Revenue and Customs, the Company was assessed as being worthy of this internationally recognised accreditation.

Authorised Economic Operator (F) status demonstrates that the holder adheres to strict and auditable procedures in handling freight, completing Customs declarations and ensuring the security and integrity of freight throughout the supply chain. The award is recognised not just within Europe but internationally, by the World Customs Organisation, and is compatible with similar schemes such as C-TPAT in the USA.

Included in the wide range of benefits are fewer physical and document inspections, meaning faster import and export Customs clearance. When inspection is deemed necessary, AEO holders get priority and there are reduced information requirements for some Customs declarations.

An increasing number of shippers are insisting that freight forwarders have AEO certification before they’ll do business together. Importers and exporters can take assurance that an AEOF forwarder, like Seaspace International, can securely handle all aspects of Customs formalities and freight handling with competence and confidence in a secure environment.

Seaspace International is proud to now display the AEO kite-mark as confirmation of our professional and responsible approach to Customs compliance and supply chain security.
